Shipping from India to Saudi Arabia: Routes & Compliance
6 min read

Saudi Arabia is a major Gulf market for Indian exporters. Alongside standard documentation, Saudi product-conformity rules are an important step to get right before shipping.
Routes and ports
Exports leave Nhava Sheva, Mundra or Kandla for Jeddah (on the Red Sea, serving the west) or Dammam (on the Gulf, serving the east). Routing and transit depend on which coast your buyer is on.
Typical transit times
- Ocean FCL to Jeddah or Dammam: approximately 10 to 18 days depending on routing.
- Air freight: generally 2 to 5 days.
Saudi conformity requirements
Many products must be registered in the SABER platform and hold a Product Certificate of Conformity and a Shipment Certificate of Conformity aligned to SASO standards before clearance. Confirm the requirements for your product category early, as missing conformity documents are a common cause of holds.
